The hosts were amazing – friendly, yet not intrusive. the barn itself was well-appointed and incredibly quiet, allowing for a peaceful and comfortable stay. the kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. the nearby pub offered a great selection of beer and wine, creating a lovely atmosphere for relaxation. the location was ideal for both walkers and cyclists, with stunning walks and easy access to the moors. We also enjoyed the beautiful views from the windows.
The dining area had a small table with high chairs, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy a meal comfortably. A traditional kitchen table would have been a nice addition, given the space.

Wow, what a gem we found! Lydonia Barn in a picturesque location was the perfect accommodation for our stay. The converted barn was tastefully designed and had all the facilities we needed. The wood burner was a cozy touch, and the welcome pack with milk, jams, and pastries was a delightful surprise. We even had a secure garden for our dog. The nearby Castle pub served fantastic food, and exploring Dartmoor was a highlight. The owners, Kim and Geoff, were friendly and attentive. We can't wait to return for another mini break.
All good, except for a small dining table and high chairs that were not very comfortable to sit and relax in.

The location was absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of Dartmoor. The barn itself was cozy and well-equipped, perfect for a romantic escape. We loved the thoughtful touches, like fresh bedding that smelled amazing and a well-stocked fridge with jams, pastries, and fresh milk. The wood burner was a highlight, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere on those chilly nights. Plus, the nearby pub was a great option for a delicious meal within walking distance.
One minor downside was the low beams in the barn, which my tall husband seemed to constantly bump his head on. However, for someone my height, it was not a problem at all.

My recent stay at Lydonia Barn was absolutely wonderful. The barn itself is beautifully situated in a lovely garden with stunning views of the surrounding moors. The bedroom and bathroom windows provided breathtaking scenery to wake up to. I especially loved the private sitting area outside where I could relax and soak up the peaceful atmosphere. The owners, Kim and Geoff, were fantastic hosts, striking the perfect balance between being friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. They had thought of everything to ensure a comfortable stay, including a delightful touch of pain au chocolat and homemade preserves as a welcome treat. The barn was well-appointed and extremely quiet, making it a truly relaxing retreat. I also appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the incredibly comfortable bed. The location was ideal for both walkers and cyclists, and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the beautiful surroundings. The nearby Castle Inn was a charming pub with excellent beer and wine, creating a lovely atmosphere for a meal. I had a fabulous time at Lydonia Barn and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful and enjoyable getaway.
While there was nothing that I didn't like about my stay at Lydonia Barn, I did find that the garden was smaller than I had expected. Additionally, there were some sheep next door with a gap in the fence, which made me feel unsafe to let my young border collie off the leash for a run around.

Our stay at Lydonia Barn was absolutely fantastic! The cottage was clean, cosy, and had all the modern amenities we needed. The woodburner in the living room was especially lovely and created a warm atmosphere. The shower was amazing and the private garden was secure and provided a peaceful outdoor space. Lydford village was charming and we enjoyed exploring the beautiful walks and even visiting the castle. The highlight of our trip was Lydford Gorge, which was truly spectacular. The hosts were great and we can't wait to return.
The only drawback was the constant rain, but it didn't dampen our enjoyment of the cottage and the surrounding area.

Loved the private sitting area outside. the owners really thought of everything to ensure a comfortable stay. the pain au chocolate and homemade preserves as a welcoming touch were delightful. the location was ideal for a quiet short break. the nearby pub served excellent food and was very dog-friendly.
There was a major issue with a faulty log burner during our stay. the smoke from the burner caused us to be concerned about carbon monoxide, and the host's monitor had flat batteries.

During our Easter getaway, we found the accommodation to be exceptional. the barn was well-appointed and provided a comfortable and quiet stay. the kitchen was well-equipped, allowing us to prepare meals easily. One of the best aspects was the lovely location, conveniently close to a charming pub and with easy access to walkers and cyclists. We particularly enjoyed the fabulous walks in the area, taking in the beautiful surroundings.
The small table in the dining area, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy meals comfortably. the high chairs were not very conducive to a relaxed dining experience.
